“If you wait until you have enough money to decorate and make your home your own, it will never happen. If you wait until you can afford to buy everything new, you are missing the point. It is the old the new, the hand-me-down, the collected, the worn but loved things in your home that make it your own.”
—Stacy Risenmay, Not Just a Housewife
MEET ALISHA
Hello and welcome to Humble Abodes.
I'm Alisha and I have a passion for making rooms, spaces and homes beautiful and cozy: the kinds where you just don't want to leave.
Since as long as I can remember, I've used my own rooms and spaces as my creative outlet, developing the so-called "eye for it". As I've followed DIYers, interior design & decorating sites, its become apparent to me that this industry can mostly feel like a luxury. I want to do something to change that!
We make our spaces and rooms work with what we have - the odds and ends we've acquired over time, some hand-me-downs, and maybe a few nice pieces you purchased as a newlywed. So often we're not 100% satisfied with how a room looks and feels. You may like it, but don't love it. On the flip side, I constantly hear "I want to re-do {this room} but have no idea where to start!" How many times have you wanted to re-arrange your furniture but just don't have the time? Or you've taken professional family photos and you still only have digital copies? I bet you've heard painting is the cheapest and easiest way to freshen up a space, but you're unsure of actually picking a color?
Humble Abodes is here to meet you where you're at....literally! To offer a spectrum of services under the umbrella of interior design, home décor, and organization...that hopefully is within your budget. My desire is for us to transforms your space or home into one that reflects your personality, preferences, and lifestyle.
